Application to Foster a pet

Foster homes allow Tara’s House to rescue dogs from a variety of situations
by providing temporary care until they are adopted. Foster homes are asked
to provide foster animals with plenty of love, adequate food and water,
shelter from the elements, and exercise. Administering medication may also
be necessary. In addition to providing the basics, foster homes may also be
asked to transport foster animals to veterinary appointments and adoption

Foster homes play a crucial role in rehabilitating rescued animals. Those
that foster are in a unique position to help abused or neglected animals
learn how to love and trust again. By teaching or re-teaching an animal how
to live in a home setting, foster homes help increase the odds for a smooth
and successful transition into a permanent adoptive home.

Tara’s House offers a host of support to our foster families including
vetting, exposure for the dog and availability for any extraneous

We could not exist without the help of volunteers. We are always looking for
volunteers to help with:

Administration Help
Examples of support needed are writing thank you notes, updating the web
pages, creating brochures and posters, and record keeping.

Every adoption event requires volunteers and a lot of coordination.
Responsibilities include helping to set up tables and/or booths, attending
the events, education of the public, clean up after the event, distributing
brochures, and collecting donations.

Fund Raising
Fundraising is needed to ensure Tara’s House has funds to run their program.
Fundraising consists of sales of products (such as t-shirts) or coming up
with new events to help procure funds.

We need volunteers who can help with transportation. Responsibilities
include driving dogs to and from the veterinarian, adoption events, foster
homes, and adopters homes.
